We believe that your personal information deserves careful protection. While you can visit our website without registering or providing any personal information, you will need to register if you want to make a purchase, as we need an obvious minimum amount of personal information to be able to process your order.How We Gather and Use Non-Personal Information
We may track such non-personal infomation as which operating system or web browser you are using, or if you arrived at our site from a link on another one — this data is used for aggregate statistical purposes only, and is therefore not "individual" information in the same way as your personal data, since it is not linked to your identity in any way. This information is of the type which is logged as a matter of course by most Internet server software, but we may suppliment this with other similar kinds of information which is not personally linked to you.
How We Gather and Use Your Personal Information
It is not our intention to collect personal information of any kind relating to minors. If this occurs, it will have been in err (age misrepresented, for example), and we will immediately purge any such information upon it being made known to us that the information collected pertains to a minor. All personally identifiable information we gather will be as knowingly provided by you.
1. We use the information you provide to process your orders — which is fairly standard fare, really... you give us your credit card information and address so we can bill your order and ship it to you.
2. We may use the information you provide to contact you for a variety of reasons, chief among them being any special instructions or difficulties with your order.
We may also use the personal data you provide to generate statistics and aggregate reports for internal use and for sharing with appropriate third parties. These statistics and aggregate reports will not contain any personally identifiable information, so your identity is kept private. (An example of this type of report might be, "How many orders did we ship to Hawaii last year?" where the answer is an aggregate total with no personal data attached to it.)
How We Protect Your Personal Information
When you provide us with personal information or place an order, it's done through a secure server hosted by Rainy Day Software Corp. Rainy Day uses one of today's most advanced security systems — Secure Socket Layers (SSL) — to encrypt all information you provide before sending it to the server, and before sending it back from the server to your browser to display.
How We Use Cookies
We may also use cookies on our website for a variety of purposes which will not include personal profiling, but relate to non-personal information such as for aggregate statistical purposes, so cookies used in this fashion will not be identified with any personal information you provide.
How We Share Your Information with Third Parties
We contract with certain trusted companies to act on our behalf by performing such functions as fulfilling orders and delivering packages, and those companies are provided with only the information necessary to perform the specific function requested. The only third party to whom all of your Personal Information may be accessible is the provider and host of our eCommerce engine, Rainy Day Software Corp. Rainy Day has a strict privacy policy of their own, so your personal information will not be used for purposes other than those stated in this privacy policy. Your non-aggregated specific personal information is not currently sold, rented or made available to anyone other than as noted above. Should the mere possibility arise at any time in the future, we will advise you beforehand and ask you to "opt in". By default, we will always assume that you don't want in — if you want to share your personal information, you will have to respond, otherwise your information won't be shared with anyone other than as already stated.
Of course, we must reserve the right to co-operate with local, provincial or state and national officials in any investigation requiring either personal information — including any personal information provided online through our website — or reports about lawful or unlawful user activities on the website. In this respect, we may at any time to disclose any information in an individual's account in order to satisfy any law, regulation or government request from an authority having jurisdiction over you or us.
How We Update our Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in legislation or business practices. In any event, we will not make changes that provide a third party not already disclosed with access to your Personal Information, except through the "opt-in" process outlined above.
